Ukrainian Historical Art by Kyivan Artist Alexander Khomenko
Since my University of Toronto Slavic Studies course on The Origins of Russia and Ukraine covers Ukrainian Orthodox icons and the Cossack Hetmanate along with Ivan the Terrible and Putin, I went through some of the late Kyivan artist Alexander Khomenko's works that I still have on hand.
In Ukraine, the artist worked in church restoration at Kyiv's Pecherska Lavra Monastery of the Caves and at churches in Tokmak, Zaporizhia, and Sevastopol.
